Apple sold more than $10 billion worth of apps in its online App Store in 2013, the maker of the iPhone and iPad said on Tuesday.

The sales were topped by a billion dollars in App Store revenue in December alone, and represented the highest ever annual sales in App Store history.

The online marketplace offers more than a million apps to users in 155 countries who are able to choose programmes for their iPhones, iPads and iPods from 24 different categories.
